“My mother did not want a seventh child, so she
decided to get rid of me before I was born. Then a marvelous thing happened.
My aunt dissuaded her, and so I was permitted to be born. Think of it, I was
a miracle.”
Arthur Rubenstein
As we look forward to the birth of Our Lord and
savior in a lowly stable, let us all remember the tiny infants in our
nation. Our bishops have issued a WARNING to us about a coming federal bill
that would radically change all laws and restrictions regarding abortion in
all the states in our country. The bill is called “Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA).
If enacted it would eliminate regulations that protect women from UNSAFE
abortion clinics. It would also FORCE all taxpayers to fund abortions. Our
bishops urge us to call our representative (Steve LaTourette) and two
senators (Sherrod Brown and George Voinovich) at (202-224-3121) and urge
them to OPPOSE FOCA. (From the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities, for more information see

“It is a very great poverty to decide that a
child must die that you might live s you wish.” -
Mother Theresa of Calcutta
“Nothing and no one can in
any way permit the killing of an innocent human being, whether a fetus or
an embryo, an infant or an adult, an old person, or one suffering from an
incurable disease, or a person who is dying…Nor can any authority
legitimately recommend or permit such an action”.
John Paul II
Winston Churchill
once said:
Show me how a nation treats its elderly and I’ll show you the soul of the
people. As a nation, our soul is in danger because many of us have
rationalized abortion and now assisted suicide and “mercy killings” as
moral and right. We can never do evil to bring about good.
“For me, life is the most beautiful gift of God to mankind,
therefore, people and nations who destroy life by abortion and euthanasia
are the poorest. I do not say
legal or illegal, but I think that no human hand should be raised to kill
life, since life is God’s life in us, even in an unborn child.”
Mother Teresa
